Griffin Essay

The Griffin writing was very strange to me. It was very dense and information ranged from a narrative of a person’s life story to the historical accuracies of a war and missiles.

The tense remained passive and the theme was historical. The narrator seemed to be telling a story that branched into multiple stories the whole time.

The life of Heinrich Himmler was discussed in vivid detail. The narrator admired him and sought to depict his life and accomplishments. This portrayed a biographical theme in many lines. We learn of his sexuality and the hardships concerning that. We are also informed of a timeline of accomplishments with years and his age at the time being stated.

The depiction of trauma during the war is well captured. This portrayed a similar pattern to the black and white clips on documentaries. Griffin would mention different films or writings that came out during the same timeline being discussed. These supporting details helped to capture the historical theme.
